Norbert Elgert

FC Schalke 04 U-19 Head Coach

Norbert Elgert (January 13, 1957 in Gelsenkirchen) is a German football coach and is considered one of the most successful youth coaches in Germany. He has been shaping FC Schalke 04's youth team since 1996 and is largely responsible for the excellent reputation of Schalke's youth development.

Under his leadership, numerous future national players and international stars such as Manuel Neuer, Mesut Özil, Leroy Sané and Julian Draxler shaped. Elgert not only stands for sporting quality, but also for values such as discipline, humility and personal development - qualities that he repeatedly emphasizes in his work as a coach, football teacher and speaker.

With the U19s of FC Schalke 04, Elgert won the DFB Cup and was Multiple German champion. His successes and his exceptional ability to motivate and lead young people were recognized in 2013 with the "Coaching Award of German Football" excellent.
