Horst wine was one of the best known Soccer educators of the world and is regarded as a pioneer of a new way of thinking in children's and youth soccer. The former national field hockey player and coach worked with teachers and coaches on four continents in 54 countries and shaped generations of soccer coaches.
After a successful career in field hockey - including as a Germany's national coach and European champion with Spain - Wein turned his attention to soccer in the early 1980s. In his luggage: revolutionary ideas for child-friendly training theory.

Together with the Institute for Youth Soccer he published highly acclaimed seminar series and training materials that are still used in trainer education today.
Until 2016, Wein worked at the CEDIFthe research and development center of the Spanish Football Association, and was regularly Speaker at the DFB soccer instructor training courses. For over three decades he lived in Barcelonawhere he was a recognized expert, teacher and mentor.
