PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Warm-Up – Training Exercises – Competition-Like Drills

Amateur- and youth coaches know the challenge to create a high-quality and interesting training program. Simple, quickly arrangeable and highly variable Drills help to satisfy this aspiration. Exactly for this challenge we designed ‘36 Drills in a Circle’. We want to enable you as a coach to organize your routines plainly and highly variable at the same time with the necessary depth to coach in detail.

The Drills are separated into three sections:

  1. Warm-Up
  2. Training Exercises
  3. Competition-Like Drills

The book starts with warm-ups and simple pass-and-dribble exercises, then introduces one-two combinations, multiple passes, throw-ins, and dribbling under pressure. Early drills also focus on switching positions, calling names, and creating space, gradually increasing complexity by involving three to six players in combination patterns.

The second half emphasizes competitive and game-like scenarios: players in the center, 1v1 and 2v2 duels, scoring challenges, 4v1 and 3v1 variations, and small-sided games with dynamic field switching. Additional exercises train awareness and movement, including clockwise and counterclockwise rotations, utility players, and structured overlaps. Altogether, it provides a versatile, circle-based framework for improving technique, decision-making, and teamwork in tight spaces.

Steven Turek

Head Coach U19 Atlanta United (MLS)

Steven Turek, born in Peine in 1990, lives for football. He began his coaching career at VfB Peine at the age of 18, obtained his UEFA A license early on and developed into one of the most committed youth coaches in Germany. After stints in Braunschweig and seven years at Hannover 96's youth training center - most recently as U17 head coach - Turek was looking for new challenges in 2023. Since August 2024, he has been in charge of the U19 academy at MLS club Atlanta United.
